Activities

The workshop on “the technology, quality and marketing of value-added fishery products” was held in Tunis during the period between 15 and 18 October 2002. It was organized by INFOSAMAK in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Hydraulic Resources and with technical assistance from the United Nations Food and Agricultural Organisation.

The scientific program of the workshop was focussed on 5 modules, namely 1) recent trends of the sea product markets, 2) Identification of the new added value products, 3) Technology of the value-added products, 4) Quality of the value-added products and finally 5) Marketing value-added products. The last day was dedicated to visiting the fishing port of Bizerte, a fish processing unit, a bivalve mollusc processing plant and finally an export plant of live rock lobster.
