Lower fishmeal production
Catches of small pelagics for fishmeal production were low in Peru and Chile, while Scandinavian countries reported higher landings. Prices that had sky rocketed in May 2005, came down to a more acceptable level for all players of the market. It is expected that prices will stabilize at the present level of US$ 1 050/tonne.
