Yemen and European Union discussed on November 17th, 2012 the areas of cooperation in the fields of fisheries and ways of enhancing them.

This came during a meeting that gathered Minister of Fisheries Wealth Awad al-Socotri and the economic attaché of the European Union.

In the meeting, al-Socotri confirmed the importance of the EU support to the fisheries sector as one of the promising sectors in the national economy, pinning the increasing of the EU support so as to contribute to the implementation of the national strategy to develop the sector.

For his part, the EU’s official praised the distinct relations between the Union and Yemen in the fisheries wealth, emphasizing the support for the fisheries sector in Yemen.
