Yemen and Spain discussed on September 19th areas of cooperation in the fish sector and ways of boosting them. This came during a meeting which gathered Minister of Fisheries Wealth Awad al-Socotri and Spanish ambassador to Yemen Javier Hergueta.
At the meeting, HE Minister Al-Socotri affirmed the need to complete the procedures for the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Yemen and Spain aiming at developing the infrastructure in the fisheries field.
He pointed to the difficulties facing the fisheries sector in Yemen, affirming the importance of taking advantage of the Spanish advanced expertise in this area. The minister welcomed the Spanish investments in the field of fisheries and aquaculture.
For his part, the Spanish ambassador confirmed his country's readiness to cooperate with the ministry in working on developing the infrastructure of the fisheries sector.
