Moroccan-French Interviews: Enhanced cooperation in marine fisheries

Ways to strengthen the Moroccan-French cooperation in the field of marine fisheries have been the focus of an interview on March 30th, 2016 in Rabat, between the Minister of Agriculture and Marine Fisheries, Mr Aziz Akhannouch and the French Secretary of State in charge of Transport, Sea and Fisheries, Mr Alain Vidalies.

During this meeting, the two leaders discussed ways to give a new impetus to cooperation in scientific research, aquaculture, training and bilateral trade. In a statement to the Maghreb Arab Press (MAP) at the end of this interview, the French official praised the level of coordination between the two countries in international bodies highlighting the convergence of views and interests of France and of Morocco regarding the development of aquaculture and the exchange of experiences in this field.


For his part, the Minister of Agriculture and Maritime Fishing affirmed that France is the fifth customer of Moroccan Marine Products with high added value, noting that this meeting was an opportunity to examine ways to expand this cooperation to cover aquaculture and protection of fishery resources in the Mediterranean.
