Yemen, FAO discuss cooperation Yemeni President Abdo Rabbo Mansour Hadi received on March 5th Director General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) José Graziano da Silva, who was in a visit within the developmental aid and political support to Yemen. In the meeting, the two parties discussed cooperation areas between Yemen and FAO. The Yemeni President pointed out that Yemen is in an urgent need for economic support and facing the challenges of terrorism and piracy. The President also noted to the possibilities of Yemen in creating job opportunities in the areas of agriculture, fisheries, livestock and other fields, which requires the cooperation of FAO in this framework and in accordance with the urgent needs. For his part, the FAO’s official confirmed the Organization’s readiness to work on developing agricultural researches and providing all aspects of support in all areas aiming at achieving food security. “The FAO is working in different situations and circumstances and we look forward to strengthen the partnership with Yemen”, Silva said
