Exporting Seafood to the EU - Arabic version [April 2010]
This bulletin provides a guideline on how to export seafood products to the EU. It
describes, inter alia, the required EU system of official assurances, the main
regulations and requirements for the Competent Authorities and operators along the
value chain.
The Arabic version has been prepared by the Yemeni Seafood Producers and Exporters Association (YSEA) and INFOSAMAK Centre with the support within the framework of the STDF project.

Analysis of market and Feasibility Study for Value-added Seafood Products [June 2006]
Following the development of value-added seafood products and the preparation of the technical manual, INFOSAMAK has implemented a feasibility study for the newly developed products. The outcomes of this study was published in manual termed: “Analysis of market and Feasibility Study for Value-added Seafood Products”.
It comprises two parts. The former consists of detailed analysis of seafood market. It focuses on the European Union area, as it is the main importer of seafood products from Arab countries. In the second part, the study provides estimates of production cost for some of the selected products taking into consideration the investments required.

Within the framework of the FAO-CFC-INFOSAMAK project entitled: « Technical Information Services for Smallholder Fisheries and Promotion of Inter Regional Trade », INFOSAMAK has published the Manual on Processing, Packaging and Presentation of value-added seafood products. This document provides fishery companies with basic guidelines on production, packaging and presentation of value-added seafood products. Lists of equipments suppliers are also provided.

Fish Info Network Directors meet at Conxemar, Vigo
In October each year the Spanish Association of Wholesalers, Importers, Manufacturers and Exporters of Fish products and Aquaculture (Conxemar) organizes the International Frozen Seafood Exhibition in Vigo, Spain.

Back to back with this event Conxemar jointly holds an international conference together with FAO. This year the conference was dedicated to cephalopods, a group of molluscs that includes squids, cuttlefishes, and octopus. The conference also provides the backdrop for various side events such as the Vigo dialogue on decent work in fisheries and aquaculture, and the meeting of the Fish Info Network (FIN).
