Open day on the development of aquaculture in the Mediterranean Sea.

Will fishing be soon overtaken by a trend toward aquaculture? This is at least what comes out of the open day on aquaculture development perspectives in the Mediterranean held on Thursday, April 16th in Nador.

INFOSAMAK participates at the International Conference on Molluscan Shellfish Safety

INFOSAMAK participated at the 10th session of the International Conference on Molluscan Shellfish Safety held in Puerto Varas, Chile on 15-20 March 2015. INFOSAMAK took part as a speaker at the FAO round table session on international practices in bivalve sanitation programme. INFOSAMAK made a presentation on problems faced by developing countries in implementing shellfish sanitation programmes, case study of Arab countries.

Through a Letter of Agreement (LoA) with FAO, INFOSAMAK facilitated the participation of representatives from developing countries.

Visit of the minister of the Republic of Sudan in Morocco:

Mr Aziz Akhannouch, minister of Agriculture and Marine Fisheries, received on Thursday, March 5, 2015 in Rabat, Morocco his counterpart Dr. Faisal Hassan Ibrahim, Minister of Animal Resources, Fisheries and Range, in the Republic of Sudan. This visit comes within the framework of strengthening bilateral ties in the fisheries sector, and the promotion and diversification of fishery products. During the meeting, the two ministers discussions focused on the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation through the conclusion of a partnership agreement covering the fisheries sector.

Dubai: Aquafarming is getting a boost in the UAE as part of a strategy to stem the problem of declining fish stocks in nearby fishing grounds.

The Ministry of Environment and Water will hold the first aquafarming exhibition and conference in the region next week to boost investments in the country's aquafarming industry.
Dr Rashid Ahmad Bin Fahad, Minister of Environment and Water, announced on Wednesday the launch of the first Aqua Middle East Exhibition and Forum on March 16 to 18. The forum, aims to bring to the UAE the latest technologies and technical know-how in the field of aquafarming or fish farming.
